Do You Have a Dream? Realizing it is Invaluable

I am encountering more and more people who are carrying with them a deep-rooted dream. That’s good news. The bad news is that they have been carrying this dream with them for many, many years, if not most of their lives.

The question is why would someone carry something so important and valuable to them for so long without acting upon it? The simple answer is one of two things, neither of which are good. Fear or excuses. Fear that they could never become the person of their dreams or excuses why everything has to be “just right” in order for their dreams to become a reality.

No matter which category you or they may be hiding in, in this week’s post, I want to encourage you to throw away your fears and excuses and to begin a journey of self-discovery and achievement that will change your life.

Before I start, however, let me share a couple of assumptions with you. I am assuming that you are at least a Millennial (40 years old), that you have achieved reasonable success in your life, and that in spite of that you have a dream to be, do or give more in this life as you begin to contemplate the type of legacy you wish to leave.

I was there a few years ago and it took two life-changing events to convince me I had to change. The death of my father and a tragic medical even that nearly took the life of my wife. Thankfully, my wife survived and is fine. And I made a decision to set aside my fears and to pursue the desire of my heart. To serve and inspire other people. And so here I am.

How about you? I certainly do not think you need, nor do I wish for you to have to go through life-altering events in order to make a change in your life. No matter what, you are going to have to get uncomfortable.

Recently, I developed the following elevator pitch to give myself, my followers, and my potential future clients clarity on who I am and what I do. I share it here publicly for the first time with you:

“I help Boomers and Xennials, X’ers and Millenials,

Invest in their deep-rooted dreams, many of which they have carried with them their whole lives,

So that through a process of self-discovery and strategies to overcome their fears and obstacles

They can turn their dreams into realities.”

I will leave it at that for now but suffice to say, I want for you to discover what I have found and what I hope I am helping many others to find as a result of engaging with me. Whether you simply consume the numerous free content I produce through this blog, my website, and my social media, or whether you engage me to speak to your organization or to coach you one-on-one or as part of a group mastermind.

What is it that I have discovered? Simply, that by overcoming your fears in order to pursue your dreams, you can become more than and better than you ever imagined possible. Of all the things that I may have accomplished in my life, I can scarcely think of anything that provides more personal satisfaction and self-confidence than pursuing and achieving my dreams.

Please come and join me. It’s not always an easy ride, it’s often a scary ride, but I can assure you it will be the ride of your life and once you get on it, you’ll never want it to stop.
